Two women fall in open manhole, survive; BMC faces flak
In a shocking incident, two women walking along a flooded footpath in Mumbai's Bhandup suddenly fell into an open manhole, as per the video going viral on Thursday and evoking outrage from city residents,
The incident happened on Wednesday evening when Mumbai was lashed by record heavy rains and many parts were inundated, leading to suspension of even the suburban trains for several hours.
Due to low visibility, flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were suspended between 16:04-16:32 hrs today as a precaution.
Operations have resumed and continue to proceed as per schedule.

NCB seizes over 2 kg cannabis sent from Canada
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized 2.2 kg of "multi-strain" cannabis buds, collectively worth over Rs one crore, at the Foreign Post Office (FPO) in south Mumbai, an official said on Thursday.
The parcel of cannabis was sent from Whittier in Canada to Mumbai with "emergency food supply" mentioned on the box, he said.
