Lakhimpur Kheri: MVA allies urge people to extend full support to Maharashtra bandh on Monday
The three partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra have appealed to the people to wholeheartedly support Monday's state-wide bandh called by them to protest the killing of four farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri.
The shutdown has been called by the ruling allies - Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress.
"The state-wide bandh will commence from 12 midnight," NCP spokesman and state minister Nawab Malik said on Sunday.

Mumbai police have arrested a 38-year-old man for alleged illegal possession of four firearms and some live cartridges, an official said on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Ashok Dattatray Kasole, was nabbed by crime branch sleuths late Saturday night when he came to deliver the firearms in Govindwadi area of suburban Andheri, he said.
The crime branch had got a tip-off that the accused was likely to arrive here with a consignment of weapons, the official said.
