A level 2 fire broke out,on Wednesday, at Vitthal Niwas in Byculla West. All the residents were evacuated from the building and no injuries were reported.

The blaze erupted at 12.10 pm on the third floor of a four-storey building located at Jacob Circle in Saat Rasta area.

At least eight fire brigades were rushed to the spot and efforts were on to douse the blaze, a fire official said.

"No report of injury to anyone yet. The fire has been doused but the cause of the blaze is not yet known,” he said.
