Mumbai: Around 1.57kg gold was seized from three passengers who landed at the international airport from Thailand. Alert customs officials detected the gold consignment concealed in t-shirts while scanning the trio's baggage on late Thursday night.

“Contraband gold was cleverly taped in the inner of several t-shirts in the checked in baggage. The gold was seized and the statements of the passengers were recorded. They have been served notices to appear before Customs officials for further probe,” confirmed an Air Customs official.
