On Tuesday, Yellow Gate police arrested two teenagers for allegedly stealing vehicles. The duo used to sell these stolen vehicles after changing their numberplates with forged documents, the cops have recovered 29 two-wheelers from the duo.
According to Indian Express, the two accused were identified as Mehraj Abdul Bari (19) who is a resident of Mankhurd and Belapur resident Mushtaq Mansuri (19). The cops caught him while he was committing a theft on January 8. Earlier on January 6, in a CCTV footage, it was seen that the accused was riding away with a scooter parked at Ferry Wharf which led to his arrest.
Bari at first denied committing the crime, but later confessed and also led the police to his accomplice. The cops have recovered 29 stolen vehicles worth Rs 6.31 lakh from the accused. The cops have also said that both the accused had been committing thefts since 2014 when they were minors and had a number of cases registered against them.
