Mumbai, May 7: Officers of the Mumbai Unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have booked two employees of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bribery case.

The accused public servants had allegedly demanded money from the complainant to issue a permanent order regarding his appointment as a sweeper.

The accused BMC employees have been identified as Y.R. Sawant, in-charge assistant chief supervisor, and worker S.C. Gamre, both posted in the solid waste management department of the BMC’s K/South ward.

According to the ACB, public servant Y.R. Sawant, in-charge assistant chief supervisor, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant to issue a permanent order regarding his appointment as a sweeper at Sahar Slum Chowki, Andheri East.

However, since the complainant did not want to bribe the public servant, he appeared in person at the ACB Mumbai office on May 4 and filed a complaint.
