Constable Subhash Kangne, 37, who ended his life on Monday, alleged corruption and misuse of his identity by a cop in his suicide note. The deceased, who was attached with theKurar police, expressed anguish in the note. He accused an assistant sub-inspector of misusing his identity to lodge complaints against other personnel with the deputy commissioner of police on January 6. In the note, the deceased said that such things tarnished his reputation in society and caused him severe mental stress.

The note further highlighted alleged corruption among seniors, claiming that certain officers continue to retain their positions because they were being used for financial gain.

In the letter, Kangne said that he and 52 other policemen had been transferred as part of the general transfer in 2024. However, some officers continued to serve at the same police station. These personnel were involved in illegal recovery operations for seniors, which was why they were not transferred, read the note.
