Mira-Bhayandar: The Bale Shah Peer Dargah, located in the Uttan area of Bhayandar West, a site of historical and religious significance, but also deemed as an illegal construction, has once again become the center of a major controversy. A recent shocking video circulating on social media shows Mira Bhayandar Fire Brigade personnel rescuing an injured individual near the dargah on the morning of April 14.

The injured individual, identified as Imran Aslakhan, has made serious allegations via social media, claiming that the dargah has become a hotspot for illicit drug activities. According to Khan, during his visit to the area, he encountered a group of individuals engaged in substance abuse. Upon objecting to their behavior, he was allegedly assaulted by a group of 20-25 people. He was severely beaten and, presumed dead, was thrown off a nearby hill. Aslakhan further alleges that his repeated calls for help to the local police went unanswered, with officers reportedly ignoring his pleas.

"An FIR has been registered against 6 individuals on April 15 after obtaining Aslakhan's statement. We firmly deny the allegations of drug-related activities in the area. There have been no previous complaints or reports of such illegal activity, and the area is routinely patrolled. We will investigate further if we receive any credible information regarding the alleged drug hub,” said Senior Police Inspector Shivaji Naik.

The controversy surrounding the illegal dargah was recently brought to the forefront by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Niranjan Davkhare in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He alleged that the dargah was constructed on encroached mangrove land and that anti-national and illegal activities were taking place there.

Taking serious cognizance of the matter, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has ordered the demolition of the illegal dargah by May 20th.

The emergence of the new video depicting alleged drug mafia stronghold activities has only deepened the seriousness of the case. All eyes are now on local law enforcement and civic authorities to see what decisive action will be taken in the coming days.
