Mira-Bhayandar: The Navghar police in Bhayandar arrested a notorious goon identified as-Shivprasad Kushal Shetty (33) for illegally entering into the city limits by defying externment (tadipar) orders.
Shetty, who has multiple offences registered against him at local police stations, had been restricted from entering areas including- Thane, Palghar, Mumbai (city) and Mumbai (suburban) for a period of two years.
The orders were issued by the DCP in accordance with section 56 (1) (a) (b) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 on 9, April, 2024. Acting on a tip-off about Shetty’s presence in Bhayandar, a crime detection team led by police sub inspector-Vitthal Patil spotted him near Hotel Tarzan in Bhayandar (east) and took him into custody on Sunday.
After duly verifying the validity of externment orders, the team arrested Shetty and charged an additional offence against him under section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act-1951 at the Navghar police station for entering without permission from an area to which it has been directed upon to remove himself. Further investigations were underway.
