Maharashtra News: Virar Crime Branch Arrests 2 History-Sheeters For Cutting Cake With Sword In Public After Viral Post

Police have arrested two individuals with criminal backgrounds for allegedly cutting a birthday cake with a sword in a public place, an act that reportedly spread fear in the community and went viral on social media. The action was taken by Unit-3 of the Crime Branch, Virar.

Palghar, Maharashtra: Police have arrested two individuals with criminal backgrounds for allegedly cutting a birthday cake with a sword in a public place, an act that reportedly spread fear in the community and went viral on social media. The action was taken by Unit-3 of the Crime Branch, Virar.

The incident came to light when photographs circulating on social media showed a group of individuals gathered illegally in a public space, celebrating a birthday, and using a sword to cut the cake. This act was perceived as disturbing public peace and creating an atmosphere of terror.

Following instructions from senior officials to investigate and take action, officers from the Crime Branch identified the individuals in the viral photos as Virendra Bateshwarnath Dubey (42) and Vikas Shamsunder Chaube (39), both known to have criminal records.

Both men were taken into custody, and a sword was seized from their possession. A case has been registered against them at the Achole Police Station under sections 189(1)(2)(4) and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections 4 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act, and section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

The accused have been handed over to Achole Police Station for further proceedings. Their past records indicate that they have previously been involved in serious criminal offences. Further investigation is ongoing.
