Maharashtra News: 4 Dead, 15 Injured As Container Truck Crashes Into ST Bus Near Tarane Village

The accident occurred when an ST bus (MH20BL3914) traveling from Rahtad to Tala was hit by a 10-wheeler container trailer (NL01AF9849) coming from Agardanda. The container truck, reportedly out of control while descending a steep slope, struck the right side of the bus, ripping through its body before overturning.

Four people lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries after a container truck lost control and collided with a state transport (ST) bus near Tarane village on the Indapur-Murud highway around 12.45pm on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when an ST bus (MH20BL3914) traveling from Rahtad to Tala was hit by a 10-wheeler container trailer (NL01AF9849) coming from Agardanda. The container truck, reportedly out of control while descending a steep slope, struck the right side of the bus, ripping through its body before overturning.

The bus was carrying a total of 45 passengers at the time of the incident. Among them, four were declared dead, and fifteen were injured.

The deceased have been identified as Trupti Vijay Kutekar (22), Laxman Raya Dhebe (34), a resident of Dhangarwadi, Anvi Rupesh Gamre (7) from Ambet and Vitthal Kajbaje (55) from Khabivali.

The injured passengers include Kashinath Dhebe (52), Savita Shantaram Gaikwad (45), Yashwant Narayan Ramane (77), Laxman Nagya Gamre (60), Vaishnavi Vijay Kutekar (25), Sakhubai Tukaram Gaikwad (70), Jayshri Namdev Gawane (60), Sangeeta Ankush Jadhav (30), Moreshwar Deve (19), Anu Barwat (40), Vijay Shinde (28), Sunil Sameer Jadhav (10), Lakhmu Pandurang Mukne (70), Kajal Sameer Jadhav (40) and Namdev Nage (40).

Emergency services promptly reached the scene of the accident. The deceased were transported to Tala Rural Hospital, while the injured were rushed to Mangaon Sub-District Hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the container truck has been identified as Dindayal Ramkaran Pal (21), from Bihar, has been arrested. A case is being registered based on a complaint lodged by the bus conductor.

"The accused had recently procured heavy vehicle license and was still an ameture. He was following google maps and couldn't judge about the steep curve ahead," dysp (Mangaon) Pushkaraj Suryawanshi, said
