Lashing out at the RSS and Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, the VBA leader Prakash Ambedkar on Tuesday said that Bhagwat and Modi would be put behind bars if he comes to power.

Ambedkar, who was interacting with the media at Akola, criticised Bhagwat for suggesting in his Vijayadashami speech that disruptive forces would resort to violence and disruptive gimmicks ahead of the 2024 general elections.

"That appears to be his wishful thinking," Ambedkar said and added that Bhagwat and Modi would be sent to jail if he gets a chance to rule the country.

"RSS would seek votes by spreading violence": Prakash Ambedkar

"They are the ones who are vitiating the minds of the people. They did the same in Manipur and also about Muslims. It is the RSS that leads to violence everywhere. Hence, Bhagwat's speech is a warning that the RSS would seek votes by spreading violence," Ambedkar said.

Ambedkar also took objection to worshipping arms and reiterated his stand that Bhagwat and Modi would be sent behind bars for worshipping arms on Vijayadashami.

"On the Vijayadashami, the industrialists worship their machines and tools. Army worships their weapons. That is normal. But, one needs clarification on why RSS worships arms and weapons?" Ambedkar asked.

He also stated that the VBA's rally on the day after Vijayadashami is the real people's program where direction for the welfare of people is given.

Tradition of 'Ravan Dahan'

Ambedkar also appealed that the tradition of 'Ravan Dahan' be discontinued and that the RSS and other Hindutva organisations should take the lead for that.

Tribals are opposed to the tradition of Ravan Dahan. One needs to look into the orders issued by the Bhandara district collector in this regard, Ambedkar said and added that earlier, at a few places in South India, there was a tradition of 'Ram Dahan'. Nehru intervened to stop the tradition. Hence, I appeal to the RSS to take a similar stand to ensure Ravan Dahan doesn't take place anywhere henceforth, Ambedkar said.

The religion should be based on positivity and not negative things, he added.
