A fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday in a godown in the MIDC area of Maharashtra's Bhiwandi. The fire was doused within a few hours, with the help of one fire engine and one Jumbo water tank from Bhiwandi's fire brigade team. No casualty or injury has been reported, informed an official.
According to reports the synthetic fabric manufacturing unit had been housed in a one-storey structure.
"The incident occurred at around 2:36 am, at MIDC area in Sarawli village which falls on Bhiwandi-Kalyan road. The godown of cloth was gutted in the fire, leading to a huge amount of smoke. However, the reason behind the fire has not yet been identified," said a fire official from Bhiwandi.
