Mumbai : The State government has decided to derecognise erring government employees’ unions. The decision has been made via a government resolution (GR) dated March 27.

The resolution begins by enumerating the rules and conditions under which the employee unions are recognised by the State government. The rules clearly mention that the unions need to furnish all the details regarding their income and expenditure, their office records, change of address notifications, details of their annual meetings, the minutes of the meetings and the resolutions therein etc. to the General Administration Department from time to time.

The resolution asks the unions to furnish all the above mentioned details for the previous three financial years within next 60 days. It also asks the unions to furnish the details by May 31 this year and warns them that their recognition would stand cancelled in case they fail to furnish the details within the stipulated time period.

The GR also makes it mandatory for all such organisations to furnish all the requisite details to the appropriate authority by November 30 every year.
