Thane: Kasam Sheikh, an artificial intelligence specialist from Kalyan and a senior executive at a corporate company, has been honoured with the Best Specialist Award in the field of Artificial Intelligence for the fourth consecutive time by Microsoft. This prestigious recognition, known as Microsoft’s 'Most Valuable Professional' (MVP) award, makes him the first and only specialist from Maharashtra to receive this accolade four times in a row.
Kasam Sheikh currently serves as a senior manager at the renowned multinational corporation Capgemini India. He hails from a modest family background in Kalyan. He completed his schooling at Vani Vidyalaya in the Bhoirwadi area of Kalyan and pursued his graduation in Computer Science from B. K. Birla College. During his college years, he carried the responsibility of supporting his family, according to the Loksatta report.
Active in the field of information technology for the past sixteen years, Sheikh has been dedicated to bringing artificial intelligence closer to the common man. Intending to dispel myths surrounding AI and educating the younger generation, he has created and shared hundreds of audio-visual educational videos on social media using Microsoft Azure technology.
In addition to his video content, Sheikh has authored more than five books on AI technology, all of which he has made available online free of cost for those in need, as reported.
According to a report, Sheikh said, "The coming world will be of artificial intelligence. Our efforts are focused on helping the new generation adopt this technology extensively. Microsoft has brought innovative AI technologies to the world. Previously, AI was often viewed as destructive, but now its constructive potential is being recognised globally."
He further noted that many universities have started offering specialised courses in artificial intelligence in response to its growing relevance. AI is an ocean. Innovations are constantly emerging, and everyone should strive to embrace it, he added.
