Mumbai: After the earlier survey to collect data on ‘out-of-school’ students ‘failed’, the state government has ordered a fresh survey on July 31. However, this time too, education officials said that they did not received proper information yet.

The Right to Education Act says that all children aged between 6 to 14 years should be enrolled in  schools., show regular attendance and get a formal education.

The survey was prompted by this mandate.

In the previous survey carried out in the state on July 4, several educationists alleged that the state government had under-reported the figures of out-of-school students. Hence, the state ordered a fresh survey on July 30. Education officials are yet to receive proper information and raises doubts about the success of the fresh survey.
