Mumbai : The police are on the lookout for one Deepak Verma alias Sunny, 30, for the alleged murder of history-sheeter Arjun Jaiswal alias Munna.
Around 10 pm on Thursday night, Jaiswal was allegedly shot at by Verma when he stepped out from building number 2 of the Transit Camp in Pratiksha Nagar, Sion, police said.
“We found shell casings measuring 7.65 mm from four bullets and suspect it to be from a factory made pistol,” said police sources.
Verma fled the scene and Jaiswal succumbed to his injuries.
While the police were initially suspecting that the accused is the member of a gang as Jaiswal is alleged to have local gang links, initial investigation suggests otherwise.
“Investigation has revealed that Jaiswal had helped Verma to come to Bombay and look for a job. Verma ran a catering business and did not have any criminal record so we are looking at all angles,” said a police officer.
