Thirteen people were arrested from a party at a farmhouse on the outskirts of the Pune city, police said on Sunday.

The raid was conducted on Saturday night by officials of Rajgad police after receiving information from Pune rural police control room that a party with DJ was underway at a farm-house on Pune-Satara highway near Kelwade village in Bhor Taluka, he said.

The arrestees have been booked for violating norms of lockdown which is in place in the district for arresting the spread of COVID-19, police said.

Raid was conducted by a squad headed by DySP Dhananjay Patil, Police Inspector Sandip Ghorpade and few other officials.

Over the last few weeks, as cases in Maharashtra rose to astronomical heights, several restrictions have been placed on movement and gatherings.

This was the second such incident in recent times. In April, nine people were arrested at a party at a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city and five women dancers were `rescued'.

The raid was conducted on April 28, by officials of Uttam Nagar police station after receiving information that a party with DJ was underway at Labde Farm House near Kudje village.

Meanwhile, The Pune district reported 2,327 new coronavirus cases, in the last 24 hours, taking its COVID-19 case count to 10,10,497, a health official said on Saturday evening.

Out of 2,327 new coronavirus cases, 559 are in PMC, 458 in Pimpri-Chinchwad area, 1,082 in Pune rural and 228 in Civil Surgeon and Cantonment Board areas.

The death toll in the district reached 16,755 with 53 patients succumbing to the infection.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Saturday reported 20,295 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 443 fatalities, taking the tally to 57,13,215 and the toll to 94,030, the state health department said.

At the same time, 31,964 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the tally of recoveries in Maharashtra to 53,39,838, the department said.

Maharashtra is now left with 2,76,573 active cases, it said.

Out of the 443 fatalities, 288 occurred in the last 48 hours and 155 during the last week.

Maharashtra also added another 389 deaths to the cumulative data with various civic bodies and districts updating the toll, which pushed the overall fatality count up by 832 in the state compared to Friday, the department said.

The state's COVID-19 recovery rate now stands at 93.46 per cent, while the case fatality rate is 1.65 per cent, the department said. The case positivity rate is 16.51 per cent.

With 2,58,799 new tests, the number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra rose to 3,46,08,985, it said.
