Mumbai: The astrologer's lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan, who was arrested and let out on bail on Monday, said he had no idea his client would plot a fake attack on herself to seek attention. Khan said, he had voluntarily surrendered to the police and was never on the run, as speculated earlier. Meanwhile, the astrologer, who had accused actor-singer Karan Oberoi of rape and extortion, is untraceable and at large. Khan said he was unaware of the attack orchestrated by his client on herself.

“A day before the attack, on May 24, me and my client had met a social activist and we wanted to do a morcha on the lines of #MeToo movement. It was decided that we might need a few men to stage a protest and I called my cousins for a meeting with my client,” said Khan. After the meeting, Khan saw his cousins shivering and panting for breath. But when asked, the cousins left without saying anything. Khan felt his client had performed black magic, but ignored.
