Bhayandar: The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Thane (rural) police has apprehended the 36-year-old owner of a farsan making unit for engaging minor boys at his establishment in Bhayandar on Monday evening.  The team led by Assistant Police Inspector-Sunil Shinde rescued two minor boys ( aged 16 and 17 years) who were made to work in unsafe conditions.

Acting on a tip-off, in context to employment of the youngster’s, the AHTU team swooped down on the unit located in a tenement in Murdha village.  The unit owner identified as- Rampratap Gupta was taken into custody and booked under the relevant sections of the IPC Juvenile Justice Act and Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986.  The rescued boys who are natives of Uttar Pradesh have been moved to the children”s welfare home until they are reunited with their families, police said.
