The South Cyber Police has arrested another accused from Nashik in the case of illegally distributing the movie 'Chhaava' through 1818 links. The arrested accused is Vivek Snehal Dhumal, 26, marking the second arrest in the case.

According to the police, after the movie 'Chhaava' was released across India on February 14, it was illegally distributed on various digital platforms. It was made available through 1818 internet links, which impacted the theatrical distribution of the movie. The complaint was filed by Rajat Haksar, 37, CEO of August Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., which was appointed as the anti-piracy agency by the production company, Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd.

The South Cyber Police initiated an investigation by registering a case against an unknown accused based on the complaint. Through a technical investigation, the police arrested the first accused, Sagar Randhawan, 26, a resident of Daund, Pune. Randhawan had purchased a domain from Hostinger to upload the film 'Chhaava' and developed an application that allowed users to stream newly released films, including 'Chhaava', for a fee.

Following Randhawan’s arrest, the investigation revealed that among the fake links, MoviesPrime.XYZ was linked to Dhumal, who resides in Mumbai Naka, Nashik. Dhumal had also purchased a domain from Hostinger. A team from the Cyber Police arrested Dhumal in Nashik after gathering sufficient evidence.
