Bhatt firing: New angle under lens

Mumbai: Cops investigating the Morani-Bhatt firing case are now looking into the role of gangster Yusuf Bachkana whose name has cropped up in the investigation. Bachkana, an aide of fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari, had carried out a shooting on a builder, Rajaram Manjaokar in 2013 when he had refused to meet his extortion demands. It was revealed that Bachkana was carrying out the operation through his mobile from Karnataka’s Belgaum Central jail where he was lodged since 2002. Owing to his association with Pujari, the police are investigating if Bachkana possibly had a role in the assassination of Bollywood producer and director Mahesh Bhatt on November 15 and the firing outside producer Karim Morani’s bungalow on August 23.
