Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: Salman Khan offers the worst on Eid, questions Bhaijaan’s glory

Farhad Samji’s film has no head and no tail to any situation, no memorable character and even the closure is cliche and tiresome.

Salman Khan’s stardom doesn’t need any introduction but isn’t he supposed to be loyal at least to his fans, if not to cine goers? Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is easily the worst he could offer during the festive season. Bhaijaan’s bhaigiri is all in vain. The 2-min act of Bhagyashree and Salman reuniting on screen too couldn’t save the film.

Bhaijaan (Salman Khan), an orphan raises three other orphans Moh (Jassie Gill), Ishq (Siddharth Nigam) and Luv (Raghav Juyal). The late Satish Kaushik, Aasif Sheikh and Tej Sapru, who appear for literally two scenes in the film, are just around to glorify Bhaijaan’s values and sacrifice. His never-to-marry rule breaks when he falls for Bhagya (Pooja Hedge), who comes to Delhi from Hyderabad.

Bhagya’s life is in danger and Bhaijaan promises to safeguard her and her family which comprises Bala (Venkatesh), his wife (played by Bhumika Chawla), his mother, daughter and other relatives. Nageshwar (Jagapathi Babu), a goon, wants to finish Bala and his entire family to take revenge for his father’s untimely death. Will Bhaijaan face off against Nageshwar and save Bhagya’s family? The answer is that by the time you would realise all of this, you might be barely alive.

Farhad Samji cleverly picks the plot from the 2014-Tamil film Veeram and packages it with cringe humour, unbearable dialogues and never-ending violence, and, yes, the film just has eight songs (less than Prem Ratan Dhan Payo {2015}), one song each for every occasion. Farhad’s film has no head and no tail to any situation, no memorable character and even the closure is cliche and tiresome. This 144-minute film is only about Salman’s undying heroism and that also doesn’t land anywhere.

Salman is a critique-proof actor but he cheats on his fans badly this Eid. None from his army would want to hate him but might change their minds after witnessing this disaster. It seems like the overly dramatic Pooja Hegde isn’t really meant for Hindi audiences, another brain-dead performance after Mohenjo Daro (2016) and Cirkus (2022).

Venkatesh and Jagapathi are good but Salman’s charity star cast is a complete waste, especially the girls, who have no part at all. They are like extras throughout. The late Satish Kaushik, Tej Sapru and Aasif Sheikh look like the byproduct of Salman’s friendship in the film. Bhumika is decent but doesn’t have much to do.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is probably the worst of Salman to date (Antim and Radhe not to be forgotten). The film disappoints from the first frame to the last in every department. Can someone tell Salman and Farhad that there is a term called law and order that exists, but it seems to have no connection with the Bhai logic in the film? Ram Charan’s lungi dance too can’t save this yawn fest.
