Ruskin Bond who was born on 19 May 1934 is an Indian author of British descent. He lives with his adopted family in Landour, Mussoorie in India.
He is a well known author who writes books in a variety of different genres. The Indian Council for Child Education has recognised his role in the growth of Children's literature in India. He has won a number of awards over the years including the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
