Are you taking a walk around the beach of Mumbai while looking for a place where you can relax watching the sun go down and sip a peg of whisky or simply enjoy a good food spread? Or a breakfast with the view of the sun rising to its glory? While Mumbai is filled with restaurants that offer some of the best sea-view, there is something about High Tide located at The Resort near the Aksa Beach that gives it the perfect scenic vibe. The restaurant more than lives up to its tropical vibe and fits its description of a beach-view restaurant.

Situated in a quiet area parallel to Aksa Beach, High Tide offers a great view of the ocean, thanks to its root-to-floor glass wall that allows ample sunlight to flow inside during the daytime. And as the sun goes down the hue of the warm colours beautifully hits the wooden interior and marble flooring. The best view of the place is from the outer sitting or the chairs that run along the glass wall. While the location certainly is an attractive point for those in Mumbai suburbs, one surely enjoys its menu spread as well.

The menu curated by their Executive Chef Amit Kocharekar is enlivening for those who love different cuisines and comforting for those who have their fix choices. It focuses on Indian, Chinese, Italian and Oriental inclusions. You also have a buffet spread, in case you want to give your tastebuds a try of anything and everything. While there is a lot that’s being offered on the menu, their Indian cuisine scores more than other international offerings. For those who relish Malvani cuisine or a good sea-food spread, High Tide stands tall in offering those cordon bleu.

Classics like bruschetta, pasta, chaat sits seemly with more nouvelle options like Fish in Hot Garlic Sauce, Bengali Fish Curry made in Mustard, Devil Chicken and Murg Achari Tikka (both in meat and cottage cheese). Talk about their kebabs and you would relish how every spice included in the dish lingers on your tongue. The chicken melts in your mouth and the smokiness of tandoor fills your olfactory senses with the rich aroma of Indian spices. For those who enjoy a wholesome goodness of tangy, saucy, sweet and spicy flavour — the Devil Chicken is a perfect pick that pairs well with rice, noodles or your chilled glass of cocktail.

The restaurant has a delightful list of cocktails and mocktails. For those who like their drinks unspiked, blindly order a pink champagne. If looking to enjoy some spirit concoction go for God

Father, a whisky and sweet Italian liqueur Amaretto blend that tastes better when served cold. For those who like creamy liquor and Irish whisky, BMW is a mix that you can’t refuse. In case you are open to

experimenting ask their bartender to fix you a strong jumble. A special mention goes to their Mango mania menu that steals the show. High on Indian and desi-style Chinese, mediocre on Oriental course and wavy with their bevvy, High Tide offers a warm setting, that makes up for a perfect day in Mumbai.

Average cost for two: Rs 3,000 (including taxes)
