A queer leader from Karachi, Pakistan, Hina Baloch is grabbing attention on the Internet for her shocking claims in a YouTube Podcast video recently. In the long conversation around societal pressure on LGBTQ+ community in Pakistan, the co-founder of Sindh Moorat March says that more than 80% of the Pakistan is gay and 20% is bisexual. The claims have drew immense reactions on social media, leaving netizens stunned and curious.
In a 37-minute long YouTube video posted on channel @Queer Global, Hina Baloch who is originated from Karachi, now leave in London opened up on her challenging journey of surviving in the homophobic surroundings in Pakistan.

During the conversation, she said, "It's kind of an open secret. I believe that more than half of the Pakistan is quite Gay actually. They don't want to say it out loud, but I think 80% of Pakistan is gay and the remaining 20% are bisexuals. I don't think anybody is straight in Pakistan."
Further she added that, most of the people don't want to accept it and bring religion and culture into it. Citing her personal journey she said that this is the reason she did not worry much about her sexuality. "I was worried about how do I put lipstick and not get loads of sh*t from my family. How do I wear jewellery and dress fem (feminine) and not get the beatings," she added.
While videos from the Podcast are continue to surface on the Internet, these claims have stunned the netizens. Hina Baloch is a now London based, writer and researcher. She is also a Khwajasira political organiser and co-founder of Sindh Moorat March–Pakistan’s first transgender pride. She holds a Master’s in Gender Studies from SOAS, University of London.
