The rain started at around 2 pm and an hour of heavy rain was enough for water to fill large areas of the city .

Maya Tiwari, a resident of Adinath Complex of ward 36, told that so much water came in only 15 minutes of rain, if it had rained for one more hour, water would have entered the houses. A similar situation prevailed in Hanuman Naka area of w?ard 35. This whole square was full of water. The entire campus of Government Nutan Kanya Higher Secondary School located in Indira Nagar turned into a small pond. A polling station has been set up in the school for the municipal elections. Due to rain, Garib Nawaz Colony located on Jaisingpura Marg was flooded for the second time this season. When deputy-commissioner of Municipal Corporation Sanjesh Gupta reached the spot, he had a heated argument with the residents of the area. Residents said that the waterlogging was a result of the smaller dimension of the sewerage pipeline

SEWERAGE PROJECT RESPONSIBLE?

There are different reasons for this sorry state. According to experts, the sewerage project being done by Tata is to be blamed for this. First, the pipes being laid under the project are not of adequate size and secondly, no arrangement has been made to stop the flow of sewage water coming out of the drains.
