Two Teachers, One Student Drown During Picnic In Ratlam

Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): Two teachers and a 15-year-old student from a private school in Jaora drowned during a picnic at Paradise Valley, about 11 kilometres from Ratlam, on Sunday afternoon. Three other students were rescued and taken to the district hospital for treatment.

Police identified the deceased as Vijay Singh (52), of Jaora, Prince (28), Jaora resident and Harshit Patidar (15). The deceased included two teachers and one student.

According to preliminary information, 17 people, including four teachers and 13 students, had visited Paradise Valley for a picnic. The group was bathing in a water-filled pool beneath a waterfall when some children began drowning.

Police took the three rescued children, including one boy and two girls, to the district hospital for treatment where their condition is stated to be stable.

Authorities took the three drowned persons to a medical college, where doctors declared them dead after examination. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
