Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Six months after being abandoned in the MP's Petlawad forests, an eight-month-old infant has now found a new home with an American couple. On Wednesday, the child celebrated his birthday with his new parents. Once the passport formalities are complete, the couple will take him to the United States.
Born with cleft palate and cleft lip, the baby was abandoned by his biological parents in the forest when he was just two months old. He was rescued and brought to Jhabua's government hospital before being transferred to Sanjeevani Seva Sangam in Indore. There, he underwent three surgeries and is now completely healthy.
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Jhabua made extensive efforts to locate his biological parents but was unsuccessful. With approval from CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority), the adoption process was initiated. The American couple, who had previously adopted two children, expressed their willingness to adopt him through the CARA portal. An Authorized Foreign Adoption Agency assisted them with the legal formalities.
Following CARA’s NOC approval, the District Child Protection Officer prepared the necessary documents. The Additional Collector, Roshan Rai, issued an intercountry adoption order, paving the way for the child's passport and birth certificate. The child, now healthy and well-adjusted, is set to embark on a new journey with his loving adoptive family in the U.S.
