Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Officers of the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Neemuch intercepted a petroleum tanker and recovered around 2,408 kg poppy straw (Doda chura).
According to detailed information, officials received intelligence that a petroleum tanker having registration number of Rajasthan would be carrying a huge quantity of Doda Chura (Poppy Straw), and acting on this information officers of CBN Neemuch were dispatched to intercept the vehicle. The petroleum tanker was intercepted near Ochdi Toll naka.
Detailed examination resulted in the recovery of 122 black plastic packets. Approximately 2,400 Kgs of Doda chura (poppy straw) worth over Rs 40 Lakh (as per market value) was recovered and seized. One person has been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act 1985. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
