Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): With the support of Narmadapuram Police, Traffic Department, a 'Traffic Management Awareness Programme' was launched for National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the auditorium of Narmada Mahavidyalaya. Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic) Santosh Mishra in his welcome address spoke on the importance of traffic management in day to day life for the safety of all personnel in society.

He said creating traffic awareness is not the responsibility of police solely and other sections of the society should also chip in to ensure road safety, especially NCC students would be roped in road safety education and enforcement. The ills of drunken driving and rash driving were also highlighted by him.

Traffic police inspector Ashish Pawar also explained to NCC cadets about the working mechanism of the interceptor van, which comes with pre-installed hi-tech speed radar and detects violators from a range of 1-km. Sub inspector (traffic) Parasram malviya and ASI Rampal Soni also spoke on the occasion. NCC cadets would be deployed in traffic posts including Sethani Ghat, Meenakshi Chowk and Satrasta where they would learn about traffic control from on duty Traffic personnel.
