Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): A Muslim man performed the Hindu mourning ritual of head shaving after his longtime friend and employer, Rahul Prajapati, died in a road accident near Suwakheda village, around 10 km away from the district headquarters, in the communally sensitive Jawad tehsil.

Twenty-nine-year-old Rahul ran a puncture and tyre repair shop, where Salman had worked for nearly 15 years.

Salman said his relationship with Rahul’s family had gradually grown beyond that of an employee and employer, and Rahul had become like a brother to him.

Deeply affected by Rahul’s sudden death, Salman voluntarily shaved his head as a mark of respect and mourning. He said Rahul’s parents had treated him like a son and Rahul had always considered him a brother.

“For me, humanity is above Hindu or Muslim. God and Allah are one,” Salman said.

Local BJP Janpad member Puran Ahir also appreciated the gesture and said Salman had set an example of humanity and brotherhood.
