Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Neemuch district is set to witness significant growth in the food processing sector as Neemuch Proteins, part of the Multiverse Biofuel Group, plans a major investment.
Authorities have allotted around 1.65 hectares of land in the Nevad region to the company to set up a facility for producing edible oils and soy protein.
The project involves an investment of Rs 365 crore and is expected to generate direct employment for around 222 people. By sourcing agricultural produce such as soybeans locally, the facility will offer farmers a reliable market and fair prices, boosting their income.
The project will also support sectors such as transportation, packaging, trade and services, creating additional income opportunities across the region. It is expected to drive local infrastructure development and enhance economic activity in and around Neemuch.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the state government aims to strengthen the link between agriculture and industry by promoting food processing units in smaller districts.
MPIDC Ujjain Executive Director Rajesh Rathod said the investment will improve market access for farmers, increase local employment and strengthen the district s economy. He added that such initiatives will help position Neemuch as a key food processing hub in the region.
