Khachrod (Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh): The road from Bhuwasa to Narsinghgarh constructed under Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana has been uprooted or developed cracks at several places. The condition of most roads built under the scheme is more or less the same.
At many places in the villages, culverts and roads that had to be constructed, remain to be built. Narsinghgarh village where the contractor left the work incomplete is an example. The potholes are filled will water on temple road. As a result, villagers face difficulty in visiting the temple. Villager Ramesh Chouhan spoke to contractor many times but he did not give proper reply.
Fernaji-Sakatkhedi Road is also in a bad condition as the old road was uprooted and the new one is still not made, causing traffic congestion. Similarly, the road from Runkheda railway station to Bordia has also been affected due to use of sub standard material.
Many leaders drew attention of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to this problem and demanded investigation. But no headway has been made.
