Madhya Pradesh: Police Tighten District Borders  

From October 10 to 23, illicit liquor worth about Rs 11,48,410 was seized and cases were registered against the accused under the Excise Act.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Enforcing the model code of conduct (MCC), the police department intensified its campaign for strict vehicle checking and checking of suspects at interstate as well as district borders.

From October 10 to 23, illicit liquor worth about Rs 11,48,410 was seized and cases were registered against the accused under the Excise Act. Drugs worth around Rs 8,000 were recovered and action was taken against the accused under the NDPS Act.

Action was taken against the transportation of gold and silver without documents by confiscating jewellery worth more than Rs 1.5 crore. During this period, around Rs 64,56,160 cash was recovered from the drivers carrying more than Rs 50,000 without documents and cases registered against the accused and taken up for investigation.

Other materials worth around Rs 5.50 lakh were recovered.  Along with this, continuous action is also being taken against the accused/drivers involved in illegal arms smuggling, violating traffic rules, driving under the influence of alcohol, and consuming liquor and drugs in public places.
