Madhya Pradesh: Over 4 lakh voters to vote for 5944 candidates in Khargone

On Thursday, polling teams left for the elections to be held at a total of 867 polling stations in Gogaon, Kasrawad, Bhikangaon and Khargone.

Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): In the third and final phase of the three-tier Panchayat election, polling for four posts including panch, sarpanch, janpad member and district panchayat member in four janpads will be held on Friday.

In the three-tier panchayat election, voting will be held for 227 sarpanch, 86 janpad and 11 wards of district panchayat in 1020 constituencies of Panch. In this election, 4825 candidates for the post of Panch, 837 for sarpanch, and 282 district members making a total of 5944 candidates are in the fray. Polling is to be held in 170 polling stations in Khargone, 148 in Gogaon, 307 in Kasrawad and 242 in Bhikangaon. There are 134641 voters in Bhikangaon, 84905 in Gogaon, 86349 in Khargone and 165764 in Kasrawad.

On Thursday, polling teams left for the elections to be held at a total of 867 polling stations in Gogaon, Kasrawad, Bhikangaon and Khargone.

The voting material for Khargone janpad was distributed from the local college campus. The material for other places was given from district headquarters.

According to the information, all the returning officers and all the teams had left by 12:30 pm. Returning officer Milind Dhoke delivered the final training to all presiding officers after the distribution of polling material in the local college. Instructions were given to take precautions during the counting of votes.
