Plays of five troupes from Bhopal have been selected for Bharat Rang Mahotsav (Bharangam). They include ‘I am Subhash’ 'Ranbhoomi ki Nayika,' ‘Rang De Vasanti,’ ‘Aranya Nayak Tantya,’ and ‘Prithiviraj Chauhan,’ have been selected under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Organised by National School of Drama (NSD), around 30 plays from across the country will be staged in the international drama festival in five cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Amritsar) from July 16 to August 14
Normally the festival is organised in February-March every year but it was postponed due to Covid pandemic. And some more Indian plays were added under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The Rising Society of Art and Culture’s play ‘I am Subhash,’ directed by Chandrahas Tiwari and Preeti Jha Tiwari will be staged at Ravindra Natya Griha, Mumbai on August 9. Written by Dinesh Nair, the play has been invited to stage in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) Dhar, Jabalpur, Hoshangabad, Balaghat, Indore. Sandeep Sharma directed music of the play which has had a total of 10 shows so far.
Ekrang Cultural Society’s 'Ranbhoomi ki Nayika,’ directed by Vibha Srivastava and Rang Vidushak’s ‘Aranyadhipati Tantya Mama,’ directed by Banshi Kaul will be staged at Delhi's Kamani Natya Griha on July 19 and August 16.
Nazir Qureshi's play 'Rang De Vasanti,' Ashish Srivastava's 'Prithviraj' Chouhan’ will be staged at Ravindra Natya Griha , Mumbai and Amritsar on August 13 and 2.
