Madhya Pradesh: Khargone's Aaditya Vihar Celebrates Navratri, Dussehra

Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): Aaditya Vidya Vihar HS School, on Friday, celebrated Navratri and Dussehra festivals with enthusiasm and fervour of Garba dance. Students presented a beautiful garba dance, followed by nine girls who gave a captivating presentation focusing on nine forms of Goddess Durga, which became the highlight of the event.

A programme of Ravan Dahan was also organised, in which students made an effigy of Ravan and burnt it while chanting the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Students were dressed up as Lord Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman.

The programme was graced by social workers, Purnima Barche, Kiran Tomar and Pooja Raghuvanshi, as special guests. Addressing the students, Purnima Barche said that Vijayadashami is celebrated on the tenth day of Saradiya Navratri of Ashwin month.

Lord Ram gained strength by worshipping Goddess Bhagwati for nine days. Lord Ram gave the message of victory of good over evil by killing Ravan during his 14 years of exile.

Pooja Raghuvanshi described all the nine forms of Goddess in detail and said that the Goddess were born to destroy demons and evil powers. She also said that the demon Mahishasur was killed by Goddess Durga, hence one name of the Goddess is Mahishasura Mardini.
