Omkareshwar: Sumit Charan, and his family left dejected after they failed to get darshan at Omkareshwar Jyotirling here in Khandwa district.
Charan along with his wife and two kids travled from Indore to Omkareshwar, on June 4 with a booking slip for which they paid Rs 600 online portal for darshan at Omkareshwar.
On reaching holy town situated on the bank of Narmada river, Charan learnt that due to corona pandemic the temple is closed for devotees Charan, lives in Bangalore and is in Indore for some course work, he said that he is well aware about the restrictions due to pandemic still he covered more than 70 kilometre distance from Indore to Omkareshwar after getting confirmation of darshan through online.
Showing darshan slip which mentioned date of darshan, Sumit said that if no one allow to enter temple then why they issue special darshan ticket.
Sumit said that as his work at Indore is over so he and his family decided to visit nearby Jyotirlinga. He inquired at Somnath in Gujarat, Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Omkareshwar in Omkareshwar on June 2.
Luckily, he got entry ticket for Omkareshwar which is barely 70 kilometre from Indore.
However, they left dejected after they failed to get darshan of Lord Mamleshwar.
When contacted Omkareshwar Temple Trust assistant manager Ashok Mahajan said that they put all the information related to Covid-19 norms and guideline issued by the state government.
On issuance of online special darshan pass, Mahajan added that it could be technical goof-up and only experts handling website could answer this, but we apologise to Sumit Charan and his family for inconvenience.
