Indore: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) rolled out its door-to-door supply service of diesel in the state. To start with Indore and all the 16 districts around it will be covered. A tanker will be used for the purpose. By simply booking diesel through an application, people can get the fuel delivered at their homes/offices or schools.
Anil Aken, DGM HPCL (Retail) Indore Region and Mukesh Prasad Manager launched the diesel delivery vehicle at Maheshwari Filling Station, Manglia Bypass. After having operated in cities like Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, now it has been extended to Madhya Pradesh.
Talking to Free Press, DGM Aken informed that the service is for stationary units like homes, schools, offices, marriage gardens etc.
HOW TO GET DIESEL
customers must book their consignment through the HPCL mobile App. While booking, they will have to send their Google location too. The nozzle of the pump will unlock only at the sent Google location. Diesel will not be sold on way/midway to the destination.
'Intelligent' vehicle
The delivery vehicle is fully computerized and has been certified by the Central government, Hindustan PCL, Ministry of Petroleum, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization and Weights and Measurement Department.
MECHANISM OF SUPPLY
Aken said the vehicle is associated with a petrol pump, which made investment of about Rs 25 lakh. Recently, 5 HPCL petrol pumps had applied for the services. Maheshwari Filling Station has bagged the contract. There is no quantity restriction on booking and delivery at the door will be made at the pump rate. But for long distance, the pump owner may fix the rate.
