Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Congress worker from Mahidpur and former jila panchayat member Pratap Singh Gur is likely to rebel against the party and file his nomination as an independent candidate on October 25. He said that he has been a Congressman since birth.
He worked for Congress all his life. Even when Congress had no name in the Mahidpur constituency, he kept the party alive. Gur alleged that the person, who rebelled against the party and contested elections twice and caused the party’s defeat, was given the ticket.
Loyalists like us were neglected, he said. On the question of whether he would stick to his words for two days and file the nomination as an independent candidate on October 25 or just doing pressure politics, Gur said that till now the situation is the same.
The workers have said that the election has to be fought. On this question, which leaders have tried to convince him so far, he said that Kuldeep Indora and Shobha Ojha have already talked. “I told them my pain.”
Gur claimed that recently when the Congress lost from all the wards of the area in the jila panchayat elections, he made ward 11 win by 10,000 votes. “Shobha Ojha has said that Surajwala will talk from Delhi in two days.
Still, I have made up my mind to win the election as an independent candidate,” he said. Gur was made Congress candidate from Mahidpur constituency, but he lost against sitting BJP MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan.
Now, the Congress had fielded Dinesh Jain Boss against Chouhan.
