Burhanpur: Following the recommendation of district magistrate and administrator of Burhanpur municipal corporation Praveen Singh, Urban Development and Housing Department of Government of Madhya Pradesh has suspended Burhanpur municipal corporation commissioner Bhagwan Das Bhumarkar for dereliction in duty.
Action has been taken after it was found that Bhumarkar was not performing the duties entrusted with integrity and gross negligence towards his duties as well as the instructions given by the senior officers of the state government are also being disregarded.
Orders has been issued by the department and signed by deputy secretary Amitabh Awasthi on Friday late in the evening.
In the orders it was mentioned that the act of Bhumarkar is a sign of indiscipline and it is a clear violation of Rule 3 of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 1965 and it is also contrary to the provisions mentioned in the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956.
Therefore, in view of the above act, the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Bhumarkar is suspended with immediate effect under the provisions mentioned in Rule 9 (1) (a) of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
During the suspension period, Bhumarkar will be attached to the headquarters of Directorate of Urban Administration and Development in Bhopal and during the suspension period he will be eligible for subsistence allowance as per rules.
