Indore: Over 86 members of third-gender community members were vaccinated on Friday on the initiative of IMC commissioner Pratibha Pal.
IMC commissioner Pal had instructed concerned officials to contact the third-gender community members living in Nandlalpura area. With the help of Gopal Jagtap of NGO BASIC, the officials contacted them.
The members welcomed the proposal of officials and agreed on getting vaccinated. Around 86 of them got vaccinated.
Durga Maa (71) and Sapna Maa (65), were two of the oldest members to get vaccinated.
They also appealed to the people to get vaccinated and help the government in battling the virus. They said that that people must contribute to this effort of government and participate actively in the vaccination drive. They also thanked IMC commissioner Pal for this initiative.
