Indore: Toddler Drowns In Pothole While Playing

The incident occurred at a kiln in Jawahar Tekri area around 4 pm when she was playing alone.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A one-and-a-half-year-old girl drowned in a pothole while playing at a kiln in Chandan Nagar police station area on Thursday. The incident occurred at a kiln in Jawahar Tekri area around 4 pm when she was playing alone. A labourer working at the kin found her and she was taken to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Chahat, daughter of Gokul. She hailed from Lalitpur and was staying at a kiln in Jawahar Tekri where her parents work.

The deceased’s father Gokul said that Chahat was sleeping and they were working. They are unaware when she woke up and fell in the pothole filled with water. She was the youngest child and had two siblings. The police initiated an investigation into the case to know the circumstances under which the incident occurred and conducted the post-mortem of the deceased.  

Man hangs self over wife’s ‘indecent conduct’

A 40-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his place over his wife’s indecent conduct in the Aerodrome police station area on Thursday. The deceased’s father stated that he was distressed over his wife’s modern attire and coming home late at night. The couple used to have domestic disputes over the same and to get rid of daily domestic disputes, he took the extreme step to end life. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Sandeep Savner, a resident of Shrinath Vihar. He was a garment embroiderer.

The deceased’s father Ganesh said that Sandeep used to have domestic disputes with his wife who was a beautician and did not give time at home and frequently used to come home late at night. He alleged that his daughter-in-law did not have any decency as she used to wear modern attire and did not wear the mangalsutra. His son also faced societal pressure due to his wife’s attire and conduct. He had two children who were at home when he took the extreme step. He gave them the mobile phone to distract their attention, later they found him hanging. The police initiated an investigation into the case and conducted the post-mortem of the deceased.
