Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Continuing their action against buses plying without following rules, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) seized three buses which were running sans valid permit, on Thursday. The seized buses also include a bus attached with Atal Indore City Transport Services Limiter (AICTSL).
According to RTO Jitendra Raghuvanshi, a checking drive was launched at Pithampur Road on Thursday morning and many buses were checked for fitness, permit etc.
Out of three buses, two buses --MP09 F 5662 and MH01 AI 8263 that were running without a permit were attached with private bus operators while one bus MP09 FA 9044 was attached with the AICTSL, running between Pithampur and Indore. The seized buses were sent to Nayta Mundla office.
“The drive against buses violating norms will be continued. We have seized about 10 buses in the last one week and appropriate action would be taken against them,” the RTO said.
Over 400 buses to be acquired for urban body elections
As per the demand of election commission officials, Indore RTO will acquire about 400 buses for ferrying the polling parties in the coming urban body elections. Raghuvanshi said that they will start acquiring buses from Friday.
