Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City continues to see a gradual rise in COVID-19 cases, with 8 new reported on Tuesday, the city’s tally of cases uptill now has risen to 120. Of these, 72 are currently active, according to the local health department.

The newly detected cases include five men and two women between the ages of 18 and 54, none of whom have a recent travel history — indicating a possible trend of local transmission.

In response, the health department has stepped up containment efforts. Nine Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) have been deployed across the city to conduct contact tracing, collect samples from close contacts, and ensure that infected individuals are isolating at home safely.

District epidemiologist Dr Anshul Mishra said that most of the patients are experiencing mild symptoms and recovering under home isolation. “There is no need to panic, but continued caution is vital,” she said. “Testing is being done for symptomatic individuals, and we are closely monitoring the situation.”

She further advised people with comorbidities like diabetes and hypertension, as well as pregnant women, elderly individuals, and young children, to strictly follow COVID protocols especially in crowded areas.

Encouragingly, four patients were discharged from home isolation on Tuesday after recovering. As per health guidelines, patients can be released after seven days of isolation, provided they are fever-free for three consecutive days.
