Indore: Online application accepted for admission under RTE, last date June 30

Lottery on July 6. Eligible children from last session may also apply.

Indore: For all the parents who could not get their child admitted into nearby private schools under Right to Education Act (RTE) last year despite fulfilling eligibility norms, they can now apply via portal and secure admission.

Under RTE, online applications are now being accepted for admission in the first class of private schools in the session 2021-22. The last date for online application has been set as 30 June 2021.

In this regard, the format of online application form has been made available on RTE portal www.educationportal.mp.gov.in/Rte Portal.

Applicants will be selected for free admission in private schools as per the eligibility, through an online lottery on 6th July 2021.

This year, in the RTE admission process, children who are orphaned due to the death of a parent or guardian due to Covid-19 will be given priority in the online lottery system.

Director, State Education Centre Dhanaraju S issued detailed instructions to all the district collectors and other officers while issuing the timetable. Instructions and time-table are also available on RTE portal.

According to the timetable, applicants from disadvantaged groups and weaker sections can register by submitting their application through the online process between June 10 and June 30.

How to apply for RTE seats?

Any one document related to eligibility has to be uploaded along with the form. After the online application, applicants will have to get the documents verified from the authorised Verifying Officer in the respective cluster centre school within the same period.

In case of any problem or difficulty in applying online, the BRC (block resource coordinator) office of the concerned block can be contacted.

RTE seat allotment

The allotment of seats in private schools to the students will be done through an online lottery in a transparent manner on 6th July 2021. After the lottery process, the allotted seat will be informed to the applicant through SMS on his registered mobile number.

List of Online Lotteries RTE will also be available on the portal. Along with this, the information about school allotment will also be displayed on the notice board of the BRCC office.

If an applicant has any problem in receiving or submitting the application form or needs information about schools where seats are vacant, then RTE. Portal, Office of District Education Officer, District Project Office of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan or Block Resource Center office can be contacted.

Age criteria for RTE admissions

The minimum age for admission in Nursery, KG-1 and KG-2 classes has been fixed from 3 to 5 years and for admission in class-I, the minimum age has been fixed from 5 years to maximum 7 years. For admission in the session 2021-22, the age of the applicant will be calculated as of June 16, 2021.

Provision for those who were eligible last year

Due to Covid-19, admissions for the session 2020-21 could not be done under the provision of the Right to Education Act, but the children who were eligible for the age-appropriate session 2020-21 under the RTE provision, those eligible children can apply this year.

Keeping this in mind, the age of the applicants who will apply for the session 2020-21 will be calculated from the date of 16 June 2020.

In the event of applying for the session 2020-21, it has been clarified to the applicant/guardian that the class allotted to the child in the said session will be notional. That is, the admitted child will actually study in the next class of admission.
