Indore: Joint pain is not a sign of Covid-19 infection but after recovery from the virus, we must be careful while going back to our fitness routines. Explaining this, Create Stories Social Welfare Society organised a webinar with an expert orthopaedic surgeon Dr Ankush Agrawal on Monday.
Dr Ankush Agrawal said, “Myalgia or muscle pain is a common symptom in patients with viral infections such as novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and influenza.”
He added that myalgia and fatigue in patients with COVID-19 may be longer in duration than other viral infections and may be unresponsive to conventional painkillers.
Beware of Whatsapp gyaan and myths
People are spreading messages about how one can deal with Covid and various home remedies. Even though some might work, that’s not the treatment for Covid. Hence, one must remember that and follow the treatment advised.
Protein requirement update
Often we have learnt that the protein requirement for a person is 1 gram per kilo according to the weight of the person. However, new research shows that everyone irrespective of their weight must have 30 to 40 grams of protein in a day. We must remember that we are not working out as an athlete and hence, our protein requirement may be normal.
Say no to protein powders
You must have protein in naturally available vegetarian and non-vegetarian forms. Do not go for protein powders. They would harm your system with excessive bulk. Be careful of your diet and keep it natural.
