Mhow: The drive-in vaccination centre at Mhow started from Friday at Dussehra Maidan. During the inauguration, state tourism minister Usha Thakur, collector Manish Singh, Mhow SDM Abhilash Mishra, additional SP Puneet Gehlot and Cantonment Board CEO Manisha Jat were present. On the first day 793 people took the vaccine dose at drive-in vaccination centre.
Currently, there are 27 vaccination centres in Mhow. The administration has taken this step to expedite the vaccination drive and with this facility people will get their vaccine jab sitting inside their vehicle and the chances of getting infection from people coming to centre will be almost zero.
State tourism minister Usha Thakur looked at facilities at the drive-in vaccination centre and applauded SDM Abhilash Mishra for the same.
Addressing the media, collector Manish Singh said, “The initiative to start the drive-in vaccination centre in Mhow has been taken by SDM Abhilash Mishra. Currently, there are six drive-in vaccination centres in Indore. Apart from Indore city, the drive-in vaccination centres have also been started in some tehsil headquarters and in the upcoming days we are planning to start the drive-in vaccination centres in gram panchayats as well. The youth are very excited towards the vaccination.”
He further added, “We were planning to open poultry shops where dressed chicken would be sold from next week. Some more relaxation orders will be issued in the upcoming days.”
