Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Having no permanent faculty, two teaching departments of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) have invited applications from candidates who wish to work as visiting teachers.

Though there are three departments on UTD campus with zero regular faculty members, two departments have invited applications as of now.

The departments with no permanent faculty include School of Social Sciences, School of Commerce and School of Languages.

Highlighting all eight courses, School of Social Sciences has called applications from interested candidates till July 5.

Similarly, School of Commerce invited applications from candidates wishing to work as visiting faculty for courses including MBA, MCom and BCom.

Interestingly, three of its own departments do not have any regularly faculty but DAVV builds pressure on affiliated colleges to appoint faculty members to all vacant posts. “DAVV has two rules – one for self and another for others,” said a private college principal wishing anonymity.

Director, college development council, Dr Rajeev Dixit said that DAVV executive council had approved 18 teaching posts and sought permission from the government for filling those positions. “We are still waiting for the government’s go-ahead,” he said. “As far as private colleges are concerned, they do not require any such permission from the government. So, their excuse of not filling positions is not acceptable,” he added.
